The Trust's Vision
For South Kilburn to be recognised for its strong, supportive, diverse, inclusive and welcoming communities; an area of opportunity where we are all empowered to achieve our full potential and improve our quality of life.

Established in 2009, the South Kilburn Trust took on the management of The Granville in 2017 to safeguard this much-loved community building. SKT recognises the long-lasting link between The Granville and the people of South Kilburn and is dedicated to ensuring The Granville is a thriving hub of local community.

Our History
Our Trustees
South Kilburn Trust has a dedicated, diverse and experienced board of Trustees who volunteer their time to govern the organisation. Our Trustees bring a range of different expertise from local council to business to ensure the Trust can deliver on its mission.
Peter Brown
Peter is CEO at Dot Dot Dot, a social enterprise focused on property guardians and community volunteering. His expertise is in social housing, regeneration and public policy and has also worked for local authorities and government organisation providing policy advice on regeneration, social housing and diversity & inclusion.

Peter is a former local resident and still has strong connections to the area.

Mary Arnold
Mary is a local resident and has played a key role in the development of South Kilburn. A former local councillor, Mary is chair of governors at Kilburn Park School and founding member of the Kilburn Neighbourhood Forum.
​
Mary has a lifetime of experience as a qualified teacher, where she was Head of Business Studies in the local City of Westminster College. Mary is passionate about the lives of local people, particularly young people. She is currently a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Ellie Southwood
Ellie is Brent Council's representative on the board. She is a cabinet member for Jobs, Economy and Citizen Experience which is a new and interesting role.
​
Her vast experience, knowledge and passion for the local area is invaluable to helping our progress in regenerating the South Kilburn area.
Robert Johnson
Robert has been local councillor for Barnhill, Brent since 2018. He has over 30 years' experience working in the housing and regeneration field and has been involved in all the major regeneration projects in Brent, including South Kilburn. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Housing.

Robert is a Brent resident and wishes to bring his wealth of experience to the Trust during this period of rapid and significant change for South Kilburn.
David Ellison
David has lived in South Kilburn for over 45 years, seeing lots of change in that time. He has been involved in the regeneration of the area since the New Deal for Communities in the late 1990s, where he helped to write the master plan for the area.

David is passionate about community and wants to ensure the residents of South Kilburn understand what is happening in their local area and how they can get involved.
Alexander Nilere
Alexander was born in South London but raised in Nigeria and East Finchley. He has lived in South Kilburn since the mid-1990s. He ran a music studio from the now-demolished Argo Business Complex in Kilburn Park and was governor of the Granville Plus Nursery for two years.

Alexander has worked in the fashion, music and club industries and is now working in Accounting and Admin whilst studying Computer Science.
Ali Awes
Ali is a local resident and represents the community on the Board. He is an experienced Community Wellbeing officer with a demonstrated history of working in non-profit organizations.
​
He has worked as a Community Connector for Certitude, London's leading adult social care provider for people living with learning disabilities, autism, mental health support needs and their families and carers, since 2014 and is an Associate of Arts and Sciences for Housing and Human Environments.
